Bankrupt SCO Group is trying to keep its adversaries, particularly Novell, from staking a claim on its remaining assets. SCO claims Novell, through its subsidiary SUSE Linux, is trying to circumvent the Lindon company's bankruptcy protections through an international arbitration hearing scheduled in December in Zurich.

Last Tuesday, independent handheld-maker Tiger Telematics made a last-ditch effort to shore up the finances of its struggling British subsidiary, Gizmondo Europe Ltd., with a short-term loan of $5 million.
